Hello, Gorgeous!
I love history, but I won’t bore you with the origin story of April Fools’ Day. Suffice it to say the new year once started in April and then shifted to January, but some fools didn’t catch on. Centuries later we still giggle about it.
Back in the early days of the internet, the first day of April brought with it some elaborate pranks. But that’s tapered off. In fact, cybersecurity software provider Malwarebytes shared a somewhat terse statement about why they’re no longer doing April Fools’ pranks. In a word (their words) “The internet is filled with falsehoods.”
Ouch.
Let’s talk about a few gentle April Fools’ pranks.
Microfiber shorts and faux romance novels
Two of the cuter April Fools’ pranks include GlassesUSA.com’s outfit made from their signature microfiber cleaning cloth material.
Introducing The Microfiber Collection—a shirt + pants ensemble designed for smudge-free, crystal-clear lenses anytime, anywhere. Your sleeve? A cleaning cloth. Your pants? Also a cleaning cloth. Your entire fit? You get the point.
Incidentally, GlassesUSA really did make an entire outfit from their signature microfiber cleaning cloth material just for the prank. And when you order glasses from them, you’ll receive a free “Don’t Use Your T-Shirt” microfiber cloth.
Another super cute effort is from Omaha Steaks who introduced a faux publishing initiative in which lovebirds “Meat Cute.” Aww. Adorbs for everyone but vegans.

Does anyone else remember the fantastic and elaborate April Fools’ pranks Google and the other bigs used to do? Do you love or hate the idea of these pranks? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!

I thought April Fools was "out" so when an artist I like posted all of her high-school self portrait paintings as her newest collection I was like "wow, her art has taken another direction" - haha!
Cute!
