Hello, Gorgeous!
Yesterday actress Ginnifer Goodwin posted a few pics of herself on Instagram while on the way to an event for the animated film Zootopia 2. Goodwin provides the voice for character Judy Hopps, the first rabbit in the Zootopia Police Department.
Goodwin is more than just an incredible actress. Over the past year or so, she’s publicly tapped into her Jewish identity and has been an incredible voice against antisemitism. But let’s go back to her eyeliner. In a word, swoon.
Last night, Goodwin’s signature pixie haircut was on-trend and beautifully coiffed; her perfectly groomed brows deserve an award, and her lips and blush were subtly glowing. What really stood out, though, was her bold swipe of electric blue eyeliner.
Bright blue with basic black
Even if you’re not ready for pastels or any of those dainty symbols of springtime, you can easily brighten up your look with some intense eyeliner.
Her thick cat eye liner was by turns chic, statement making and just plain fun. It’s also a look that will translate well under eyeglasses.
Ready to add a bold stripe of eyeliner to your own day?
Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in Chaos is smudgeproof and long-lasting. It also hydrates with vitamin E and jojoba oil. Use as eyeliner or smudge all over for a Goodwin style glow-up ($23, Amazon).
Sephora Collection waterproof 12 hour retractable eyeliner pencil has over 474k loves for a reason. It’s affordable, comes in 18 shades, has shimmer, matte or glitter finish, and comes with a small blending sponge/sharpener. Check out Matte Cobalt Blue, a power shade that will even distract attention from any bags or wrinkles ($14, Sephora).
And before you ask, no you’re not too old for bright eyeliner colors. It’s also not unchic since it has nothing to do with the light blue eye shadow popular in the ‘60s and ‘70s.
Bonus: You don’t have to worry about perfect application technique. Bold can be messy if that’s your eyeliner trademark. Worse comes to worst, you can transform it to a smokey look.
So, what do you think about bold blue eyeliner? Are there any spring trends you’re dying to try? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!

This is something I would never think to do! But as I lean into my changing 40-year-old-skin (ditching the foundation for a naked, moisturized look) I've been wanting to play up my eyes more. This seems like the perfect 'fun' thing to try.
I like it on her, but I think it depends on skin tone. I have a blue eyeliner from Dior I bought a while back and I love it, but it's a darker blue, rather than a bright blue. Not sure that my skin tone would take a bright blue like that.
