An Effortless Weekend (Well, Almost Effortless)
The weekend roundup includes a Fenty gloss stick, the comfiest pants ever, and an essence that softens fine lines
Hello, Gorgeous!
I’m singing a song right now and it goes something like this:
La la la
Weekend
La la la.
I know. The lyrics need a bit of work, but, hey, isn’t life a work in progress?
As for the weekend, I’m going to try to make things effortless this time around. I hope you’ll join me!
Whether you’re staying in for the weekend or heading out, there are easier ways to look fabulous.
Vuarnet sunglasses are making a comeback
Remember the look of polarized ski shades so popular in the ‘90s? Well, get ready for more! The brand’s newest launch is their 251 Collection which combines design forward frames with their classic high-performance eyewear and signature mineral lenses. If you’re too lazy to apply makeup over the weekend, much less tame your brows, you should check out these stunning oversized Vuarnet Altitude 02 polarized sunglasses. ($370, us.vuarnet.com).
A gloss + balm that’s actually the bomb!
If you absolutely can’t leave the house without some lip balm, check out Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix High Shine Gloss Stick (now try to say that three times fast!). It’s medium pigmented, so you get a hint of color with a whole lot of gloss and moisture for up to eight hours ($25, Ulta).
I may earn a small commission from sales made using the links in this post. (Probably not, since I’m kinda lazy about chasing down affiliate programs).
The only pants you’ll want to wear this (and every) weekend)
Another brand that launched and was incredibly popular in the ‘90s is XCVI. I remember buying a pair of their cargo pants before a trip and ignoring all the rest of my clothing for most of the trip. Their Twill Beach Trouser embrace the wide leg pants look that’s so popular right now. They’re also oddly flattering with frayed edge detailing and an extremely comfy waistband perfect for more indulgent weekends ($79, xcvi.com).
A thrilling page turner
Don’t you just hate it when you’re out on a steamy date with a new love interest and stumble upon the mutilated body of a local politician? Dead Man’s List is Karen Rose’s third book in The San Diego Case Files trilogy. It’s a twisty and suspenseful escape into San Francisco’s seamy underbelly and high society ( $27, Amazon.com).
A soothing sea kelp and deep sea water mask
Not planning on going anywhere this weekend? I hear ya. You can use Biodance’s Refreshing Sea Kelp Real Deep Mask while lounging on the couch. This one is great for oily or acne-prone skin, so if your skin has been stressing out all week you can help calm things down ($19, Amazon.com).
Chewable tooth paste to build up dental enamel
I’m pretty sure I’ve mentioned these before, but NOBS (No Bad Stuff) Toothpaste Tablets are part of the new generation of nano hydroxyapatite toothpastes, meaning they help repair cavities with every brush (and chew). They’re also fluoride & plastic free and eco and travel friendly ($40, Amazon.com).
An anti-fatigue essence
Lately I’ve been using essence to wash my face in the morning. I figure it’s a great way to cut down on a step and dab in active ingredients at the same time. Dr. Louie is a fantastic brand out of Canada where the eponymous doctor behind the brand creates low irritation products for all skin types. I’m newly obsessed with this multi-tasker which is said to replace toner, serum, moisturizer and face oil. I’m not there quite yet, but I love this first step before my day moisturizer ($65.99, drlouie.com).
