Brands That Rarely Disappoint
Sometimes you just need products you can (almost) always count on - here are a few of mine.
Hello, Gorgeous!
Life can feel unpredictable. For that reason there are times I reach for or repeatedly buy from brands with a proven track record.
Here are a few that I reach for time and time again…especially on days I need a bit extra TLC.
Naot shoes
Naot is one of those brands with an IYKYK vibe and nearly universal adulation. Comfortable and built to last, they also have loads of styles that shift with trends though never too far from their classic cult favorites.
While the word orthopedic never ever sounds sexy, there are times you might need a bit more support. Naot’s new Boulevard collection has great-looking designs with OG styling that have orthopedic-level comfort built in. That includes slip-resistant soles, removable footbeds and all-day cushioning. I’ve been testing out Sunset, a new kid on the block. They’re a bit firmer than the Naot shoes I’m used to, but they also combat all-day running around foot fatigue. The soles have extra grip which take a tiny bit of getting used to, but are excellent for city sidewalks. Notable - it says these run a bit large, but I had a hard-ish time squeezing into them the first few times I tried. If you wear thick socks, consider sizing up by half a size ($180, Naot).
Ahava hand cream
I definitely inherited my super-sensitive skin from my mother. When I was a kid, my mother would soak her hands in water brought directly from the Dead Sea to try to combat her intense skin allergies. Lucky for the rest of us, we can access those excellent benefits in a handy-dandy tube of hand cream.
Ahava Dead Sea Water Mineral Hand Cream is great for work-hardened hands, or for when you need a tiny taste of an at-home spa treatment. While the line has expanded significantly over the years, I’m still obsessed with the original light texture and heavenly smell ($25, amazon.com)
Moroccanoil Treatment
It’s nearly impossible to ignore the massive impact category creator Moroccanoil has had on the hair care industry. With nearly 88k raves on Amazon and over 10k units bought in the past month alone, this is a product with staying power. If you have frizz or flyaways, you can smooth on a bit for an instant hair upgrade. The line has expanded to include argan oil-infused hair and body products. The original treatment is a classic for a reason and even great when used sparingly on unruly eyebrows! ($20, amazon.com).
