I’m not a fan of reality TV; more than that, these days it can be difficult to know what’s real anymore and what’s simply another ad. Sort of like Halle Berry posting from her hotel bed on Mother’s Day along with her man Van Hunt.
How Halle Berry made everyone uncomfortable at bedtime
In case you missed it, the Oscar-winner is in Cannes serving as a member of the jury for the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. Impressive.
Berry is also promoting the brand of personal lubricant she’s said to have helped develop, Let's Spin. To that end, she ended her Mother’s Day by posting lots of double entendres about her plans with Van in Cannes. My reaction was a whole lot of cringe. It felt like Kardashian lite rather than respected actress with a new side hustle.
Several famous faces including Berry and Naomi Watts’ Stripes Beauty are addressing menopause issues with product lines meant to make women look and feel better. Instead of hiding hot flashes, they’re monetizing them. I apologize for my snarkasm, this is a good thing.
But Halle promoting her lube while in bed with her fella? Not so much. For me it’s hard to know what’s completely staged or simply celebrity oversharing. And for me at least, that’s a complete turn-off.
