I'll never forget the feeling of unity in the country in the days that followed and given alllll the recent events, it brings me to tears. I remember the incredible stillness in the city for a year or two after. Waiting for life to start again. And I do remember the way people tried to love and support each other. I'm so heartened you posted this as a way to give back. I remember being at work and CNBC was on in the background, as usual. Our office was next door to the then-named Sears Tower, and there was a legit concern it would be hit next. Watching everyone stream out of the Loop and on to the suburban trains (where I had to go for our satellite office) was surreal. We need to remember this day and the sacrifice of first responders.
