Hello, Gorgeous!
I actually had a different post planned for this morning, but the global technology glitch seems to have eaten it. It’s all good since I really wanted to post about this topic instead.
Out of curiosity, how often do you change up your skincare/hair/body routine and why? My go-to routine involves a whole lot of Shiseido Benefiance, but this autumn I shifted to Drunk Elephant and I’m not looking back. Here’s why.
Why Drunk Elephant is my fall skincare pick
I love Drunk Elephant as a brand. The unexpected name, the individual quirkiness of each product, the amazing ingredient lists, and the overall efficacy along with responsible sourcing and packaging. That said, I’ve never really felt like DE was a powerhouse treatment option. I’m not sure why, but I usually used DE products that were nice enough, but didn’t do the hard work for my sometimes cranky skin. Then I tried two products that changed everything I thought about Drunk Elephant. Did I also mention that people kept telling me how great my skin looked? Since I test out so(ooo) many products. I take note when I receive repeat comments on a specific element of my appearance.
Cushiony skin treats
It’s almost inevitable that when the weather outdoors cools down and the indoor heating goes on, my skin starts to resemble a dried-out leaf. Still beautiful, but kinda parched (I’m just going with the whole fall theme and all). I was searching for a new option and decided to give Drunk Elephant another try. I’m so happy I did.
First up Bora Barrier™ Repair Cream. I am not sure where to begin about how much I love this product. My skin really likes it too. The brand-described reparative formula creates a “healthy skin barrier,” so my face is cushioned all day and then some. While I’ve been applying at night, I plan on using it during the day when the weather gets really blustery and will follow with SPF. The ingredient list is pretty dreamy and includes zinc and copper gluconates, which can tackle and tone down redness. The rest of the ingredient list is equally impressive. I’d also recommend using this before air travel or as a mask before you shower or bathe ($74, drunkelephant.com).
Up next: Ceramighty™ AF Eye Balm. I have searched high and low for a great eye cream for years, and no matter how great one is, I usually have to switch it out every few months. I’m extremely hopeful about Ceramighty. From the first time I applied it, I noticed a softening effect, or maybe it was more of a blur. It’s a bit hard to describe. But I also noticed that the skin near my eyes started to feel softer overall. I’m a huge proponent of using eye creams religiously because I see a difference when people don’t.
One odd little detail to keep in mind. The ingredient list mentioned Oat kernel oil and vitamin F. The thing is, there’s no such thing as vitamin F; it’s more of an amalgam of alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) and linoleic acid (LA). Think fatty acids for your face, which are really helpful in the delicate eye area ( $62, drunkelephant.com).
Have you broken out the heavy-duty skincare products yet, or are you still waiting? Let’s meet in the comment sections to discuss!

The blackout is / was really something! Definitely want to give Drunk Elephant a try based on your enthusiastic recommendations. Left to my own devices, I don't know where to begin.
Hope you are feeling better. I'm going to try these. After being acne face my entire life, now have super-dry skin and don't know what to do.
