It would seem something of a no-brainer, but glitzy global icon Dolly Parton is finally launching her own cosmetics brand.
I’m still not quite sure why Dolly Parton’s licensing team chose branded cake mixes before having her dip her perfectly lacquered toe into the beauty landscape. And pardon me for sounding cynical, but the quote that came along with news of the drop sounds a bit too canned for me. I’m not sure that it matters though. It will be a fun conversation starter to whip out a tube of Dolly Parton lipstick while at dinner with friends.
“All of my life I’ve wanted to be pretty, and my new cosmetic line is going to allow me and you to be our very best,” says Dolly Parton. “So, fly pretty, up, up and away. Enjoy!”
