Hello, Gorgeous!
My name is Rachel, and I suffer from Shiny Nose Syndrome.
While this isn’t a widely recognized affliction, those of you with noses that perpetually gleam will recognize my pain.
During the summer months, my nose is extra shiny. In colder weather, I constantly seek a balance between a matte nose and not drying out my face completely. Believe me, the struggle is real, which is why I’m so excited about Laneige's new blurring powder.
Laneige Neo Essential Blurring Finish Powder isn’t like your other powders
I have extremely pale skin, making it awkward to find a powder that blends without looking chalky. I’ve had great luck with Hourglass Vanish Airbrush Pressed Powder (and wrote about it here), but I always seek the holy grail of pressed powders. The new Laneige powder serves a different purpose, and I like it so far.
Here’s what I love about Laneige Neo Essential Blurring Finish Powder:
It’s Laneige. It’s hard to find anything from this beloved K-Beauty brand that isn’t fantastic.
It’s a blend of three powders with different benefits, sizes, and purposes. This power combo targets oil, blurs imperfections, and smoothes the appearance of skin—we love that!
It’s a loose powder presented as pressed powder. The spill-free compact houses loose powder in a way that’s easy to use. Press the super fluffy powder puff down to release a bit of product. Don’t press too hard, or the powder will fly around. A silicone mesh net over the loose powder prevents spilling. The compact is extremely lightweight as well, making it easy to travel with or stow in your bag.
The ingredient list is delightful. What can I say? I geek out at creative ingredient lists. This one contains mint extract (can brighten the look of skin and zap blackheads), licorice powder (usually used to tackle unevenness in the skin), chamomile water (Okay, I did not know this was a thing. I’ll wager an educated guess that it’s a tincture made of chamomile tea to calm skin). It also contains blue hyaluronic acid which seems to be a Laneige exclusive made by fermenting hyaluronic acid and combining with algae.
What I don’t love:
I’m constantly frustrated by product packaging, where I can’t see how much is left. This one will be tricky to gauge.
While 5k units were bought in the past month alone, when I did a quick review check of the raves on Amazon, the grade was F and labeled unreliable.
Overall, I really like this powder. ($25, Amazon.com).
Do you think you might try this one? Let’s discuss in the comment section!

I always love Laniege and have not found a pressed powder I like they seem to mattify too much and get cakey in oily spots - I'm very intrigued!!
