K-Beauty and Tariffs
Your favorite products are going to cost more. Should you be stocking up?
Hello, Gorgeous!
A quick welcome to all the new subscribers. I’m so glad you’re here!
In case you missed it, I was quoted in an article about K-Beauty and tariffs that ran on the AP and was syndicated pretty much everywhere.
The last time I was syndicated this widely was when I was snarky about Crocs some years ago and appeared on the Today show and Good Morning America the same morning. But it would seem that K-Beauty is a serious topic, or at least the tariffs involved are.
Don’t stockpile K-Beauty
Some advice from me, in case you’re considering on stocking up now to save on projected tariffs, I’d say buy in moderation. Beauty products aren’t made to last and the ingredients are sensitive at the best of times. Or as I said in the article:
I don’t think stockpiling is a sound practice.
Maybe one or two products, but natural oils, vulnerable packaging and expiration dates mean that your products could go rancid before you can get to them
In other words, as tempting as it is to buy everything in sight now, the products may not wear well. Believe me. A weekend skincare and makeup purge has taught me that stocking up isn’t necessarily the smartest plan.

@ debbie I can't seem to respond directly to your comment. I think it's fine to buy one and maybe even store in the fridge, but I've heard from people buying dozens of items. You know it's going to break or spoil.
Good advice. I am tempted to buy now a cleanser/toner/moisturizer that I'll need for winter, but probably won't stockpile.
