Hello, Gorgeous!
You’d think with the copious amounts of product samples that show up at my door on a daily basis, I wouldn’t actually buy any beauty products. You’d be mistaken. I buy makeup everywhere. And I pay careful attention to what pulls me in. Is it the name or the packaging? Is it a new product or a new iteration of a tried and true favorite? And on and on and on.
With L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Noir Balm Volumizing Mascara it was the urge to test out a newer update of a product I loved for years but never got around to trying.
L'Oreal Paris Voluminous Noir Balm Volumizing Mascara
This mascara actually came out a few years ago and has been on my radar for a while. I spotted it in a local pharmacy (They still exist in my part of Brooklyn), and couldn’t resist.
Let’s get this out of the way. This is my current favorite mascara.
Here’s why:
It’s great for sensitive eyes. I can probably count on one hand the times I’ve actually worn mascara in the past year. My eyes have become so incredibly sensitive (and let’s not even discuss allergies) that I can’t really tolerate mascara anymore. I wore this one for 16 hours to see if it started to bug my eyes. It didn’t. I barely noticed that I was wearing it at all. That said, despite claims of being flake, clump and smudge resistant, it did flake at a certain point, but that’s to be expected. I’m also loving the fact that this mascara is made with 99% natural origin ingredients and free from parabens and mineral oil.
The volume was insane. The product claims say this vegan balm-in-mascara produces up to 7x fuller lashes. That’s a bold claim. I didn’t wear any eyeliner when testing this out because I was curious if my lashes would droop (they didn’t) or if friends or fam would notice my massive lashes (they did). Now that I think of it, the length was even more impressive than lash girth. And of course size only matters when it comes to your lashes.
The brush. I was initially a bit meh about the brush. The old-school Voluminous mascara brush was a massive spoolie with tons of attitude. It practically applied your mascara for you. This mascara has a more modest brush, but that’s actually plus. It allows you to build your volume level, even applying a few coats for maximum length.
I’m going to use this a few more times and will let you know if it remains as amazing as the first few times. ($12.99. Holy carp. I just checked and right now it’s on sale for $7.43 on Amazon).
Have you tried this version of Voluminous or do you have a different mascara fave? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
