More Sniff, Less Whiff
Stay Humble (and fresh) this winter
Hello, Gorgeous!
Apologies. I know that I’ve mentioned my super sensitive skin on more than one occasion, but this season it’s gone off the charts. If you look at me the wrong way, my chin, arms, and neck break out in red unattractive bumps. And tragically, I seem to have developed an allergic reaction to cashmere worn near my face. So I’ve given away my favorite winter scarf to my sis. For that reason I’ve been moving even further away from products with too many preservatives and ingredients I can’t pronounce and expanding my search for more natural options.
Hell, Humble!
Humble Brands
Humble (tagline “Nothing Bad.”) is one of those companies I feel kind of stupid for not actively knowing about sooner. I say actively since now that I think about it, I’ve seen their products at the natural food stores I frequent, I just wasn’t paying enough attention.
Humble deodorant is aluminum and paraben-free. So, while it’s technically not an antiperspirant, it still somehow seems to slow down the schvitz. And for some reason this formulation works best for me in sweater weather. My favorite part is that each one is made with a grand total of four or five all-natural and organic ingredients including cornstarch and coconut oil, depending on the scent. And because this is a small maker brand, they’ll tell you about each order and where it was produced.
They also make soap, lip balm and travel size products. There are plastic-free versions that comes in beautiful cardboard cases.
Fair warning, the scents are so fresh and creative that you’ll probably have a hard time choosing just one (I’m on a Mountain Lavender kick right now. $10, freepeople.com).
Do you switch your deodorant seasonally? Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!
