Muk You
Your hair has been eagerly awaiting this performance brand of hair care products from down under
Hello, Gorgeous!
It’s pretty rare that I get really excited about new hair care lines. I’m really excited about muk.
While it launched in Australia in 2006, muk has been slowly making its way to our fair shores.
Here’s what I love about the line (in no particular order):
There’s something for every hair type. Blonde hair? Fair hair? Fine hair? They’ve got you. I tried the shampoo and conditioner for fine hair (Fat muk Volumizing Shampoo and Conditioner) and loved the way it added shine without weighing down my hair. I won’t go so far as to say it made my hair bouncy, but it did make it less lank. I also tried muk Fat Volumizing Hair Powder which is a translucent root lifter for all hair types. I liked the bit of volume it added even on an extremely humid day ($25, Amazon).
The scents. ZOMG. How many delightful fragrances can one haircare line come up with? Most are light and breezy with florals or gently fruity fragrance enhancements. And I love that the scents lasted even after my hair dried, something not typical for baby fine hair.
The packaging. It’s responsible, it’s non-slippery in the shower, it’s recyclable. It’s also brilliantly designed. While products in the same line are color coded, the use of color varies so you can automatically tell your shampoo from your conditioner. And the line is cruelty-free. Hurray for amazing products made ethically.
They help you figure things out. Not sure which products to try? Take the hair quiz.
And if you’re looking for tools to enhance your hair transformation, muk has some great ones.
The salon-quality styling tools. Not sure if you should spring for a Dyson? Consider muk’s Ultra Sonic Dryer. It’s ergonomically designed, so you won’t suffer when styling your hair. It’s also incredibly lightweight and dries hair quickly without drying it out. And I honestly cannot tell you how they made this particular bit of magic happen, but my hair was super shiny afterward. Also interesting, I played around with the diffuser tool which had my hair dry into perfect ringlets. That was fun and weird. But mostly fun ($350, mukhair.com).
What can I say? This is a super fun and incredibly effective hair care line that had me marveling at the results.
You can find muk on Amazon (with new products being added all the time) or at mukhair.com.
How loyal are you to the hair products you use? I was obsessed with Commence but this is my new fave. Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!
