Hello, Gorgeous!
If you’ve been reading this newsletter for a while now, you’ll know that I have no problem with sharing silly or frivolous products that might make you (or me) smile. After all, life can be tough; if you can find something that brings you a small amount of joy, why not indulge? And then indulge some more! But I draw the line at $26 fans meant to help you dry your body products.
(Skip the) Patrick Ta Major Glow Setting Fan
I generally don’t write about products I don’t recommend. And unless it’s a product du jour that everyone is raving about but is actually a dud, I won’t cover it at all. But I find myself fascinated with this fan.
Let’s enjoy this from the Sephora website, where this fan has been favorited by 5.2k people and is a Sephora.com exclusive:
What it is: A glamorous hand-held fan with rose gold metallic details designed to seamlessly set mists, makeup, and more.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Patrick Ta products, and am gazing lustfully at this extremely matte palette for summer. And if invisible $58 body creams are your jam, I think you should try this one. But seriously, $26 for a fan that you will use to help dry your body products? You can head to the Dollar Tree for an unbranded fan for about a buck, or hop on over to Walmart where beauty fans of the battery operated variety start at about $4.
I’m not a fan of designer labels for the sake of labels at the best of times, and this one is just silly.
So, what do you think, brilliant marketing or desperate attempts to attract attention? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
