Put Primark to Work
These new dresses and tops are great for meetings, coffee catch-ups, the office, or Zoom
Hello, Gorgeous!
A lot of you write to me asking for tips on finding more comfortably age appropriate clothing that’s neither overpriced nor fuddy-duddy (am I a fuddy-duddy for using this expression?). It’s a complicated issue that’s further intensified by the need to balance your budget while not giving into fast fashion cravings.
Revisiting Primark might be a welcome option right now.
Why Primark?
In case you’re unfamiliar with Primark, they’re a very popular affordable clothing/home/beauty chain from the U.K. According to their website, Primark is “An international fashion retailer employing more than 80,000 colleagues across 17 countries in Europe and the US.” It’s only somewhat more recently that their stores have opened in the U.S.
While Primark doesn’t have available online shopping options, it might be worth finding a store for some in-person browsing. The spring collection boasts dresses that are actually flattering and affordable. The great looking Edit Puffed Sleeve Dress is $30 and not cheap looking. The dresses also come in a variety of lengths and fits.
There are also a few incredibly detailed embroidered tops from Paula Achevarria that look like the cute things we used to find only in far-off destinations.
Kudos to Primark for having two adaptive style dresses for those using wheelchairs or with special clothing needs for ostomy supplies. It would be great if Primark had plus size options as well, but it looks like 14/16 and not overly generous XXL are the largest options.
Have you shopped at Primark lately? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
