Reader's Choice: Land's End Cashmere Turtleneck
Warm, affordable and comfortable.
Hello, Gorgeous!
Have I ever mentioned how much I love hearing from you? Whether it’s a comment, an email or a DM, your feedback is always welcome and appreciated.
Last year Colby from Vermont wrote to complain about how much she hated the cold weather and how she’d bought too many cashmere sweaters. And like Goldilocks, Colby’s cashmere was too thin, too itchy, too short…you get the idea. Apparently, Land’s End Cashmere Turtleneck sweaters were just right.
Land’s End Cashmere Turtlenecks
First off, in case you never quite knew where cashmere comes from, here’s a quick primer.
Cashmere, also known as cashmere wool, is made from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats. They grow super fine hair on their bellies during winter months. During the spring time that extra layer of warmth is no longer necessary and it either naturally molts or is combed off. Those fibers are collected and processed to create what we know as cashmere. I’m pretty sure that collecting cashmere is universally cruelty-free. It tends to also be pretty universally pricey.
Colby, our perpetually cold reader said that she’s tried cashmere from Kohls, Macy’s, Saks, Nordstrom, Orvis and pretty much every retailer known to womankind. She was not impressed. Until she tried one from Land’s End.
I was curious enough about Colby’s raves to run it by my sister Kiki AKA the Cashmere Queen who promptly treated herself to a classic black turtleneck. She raved too.
Two notable things: Kiki said that she loved the way the actual neck stayed put and didn’t roll down. She also said that the sizing runs the tiniest bit small, but not enough to be noticeable. That said, I try to order winters sweaters one size up or in Tall, so that I have extra length and room to layer. These comfy turtlenecks come in solids, stripes and extended sizing (Normally $200, but on sale now for about $98, landsend.com).
Are you a fan of cashmere? I seem to have developed an allergy to cashmere lately (along with pretty much everything else) Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!

Land's End is a great value! I also like Uniqlo. I bought a navy cashmere crewneck and it's holiding up nicely.
The Land's End one is so great!
