Spring Clean Your Scalp
Salon grade ingredients in three new formulas reinvigorate every hair type
Hello, Gorgeous!
Those darn April Showers. It’s been raining nearly nonstop in my part of the world, so I’ve been slapping on random hats and baseball caps and ignoring my lank looking hair. Until I tried the three new haircare collections from Luseta. The trio includes: Scalp Balancing, Manuka Honey, and Rice Water offer something for (nearly) everyone). Spoiler alert - Rice Water is my new bestie.
From scalp balancing to a centuries old tradition
Scalp Balancing Collection:
If you’ve only ever used Salycylic Acid on your T-Zone, you’re in for a surprise. This collection is infused with Salicylic Acid which removes buildup, oil and flakes. It’s like gently vacuuming your scalp microbiome, declogging pores and getting hair ready for springtime. And don’t worry about it being too strong, the pH-balanced formula keeps scalp clean and hair light and bouncy (Available in Shampoo/Conditioner/Hair Mask, $16, $16, $36 at Lusetabeauty.com or Amazon).
Next up, something sweet for your hair.
Manuka Honey Collection:
I recently taught a class about the beauty benefits of Manuka honey. My class actually gasped when I told them Manuka is derived from the pink or white flowers of the Manuka tree, which is native to New Zealand. Go, figure! This shampoo is infused with the moisturizing elements of Manuka, so it’s great for dry, damaged or overprocessed hair. It still gets rid of dryness and dandruff, but I found that it’s more a formula for controlling frizz and smoothing hair.
(Available in Shampoo/Conditioner/Hair Mask, and a super rich but not heavy Hair serum $16, $16, $36, $28, Lusetabeauty.com or Amazon).
And something that’s been used for centuries:
Rice Water Collection:
Have you ever seen the images of the Red Yao women of China’s Longsheng Mountains washing their hair near the river? For centuries they’ve used fermented rice water to keep their hair extra long and strong. While I’m pretty sure that I’ll never have knee length hair, I am becoming increasingly obsessed with the gentle way the Rice Water Collection tackles dryness and strengthens my hair. And I love that it’s inspired by an ancient self care ritual from halfway across the world. While I really love all three new launches, this one is my fave by far (Available in Shampoo/Conditioner/Hair Mask, $16, $16, $36 at Lusetabeauty.com or Amazon).
Random curiosity, do you use one shampoo and conditioner or do you switch often? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
