Did you read the recent study from the UK reporting that catching up on sleep over the weekend could lower heart disease risk?
The European Society of Cardiology reported two key takeaways:
Modern lifestyles mean many people are sleep deprived on work or school days, and try to ‘catch-up’ with compensatory sleep on weekends
The UK Biobank study of more than 90,000 individuals showed that those who had the most catch-up sleep on weekends had a 20% lower risk of developing heart disease than those with the least.
That’s reason enough for me to sleep in over the weekend. While I’m still in search of the perfect mattress, I’m loving these soft and cool sheets and the most brilliant duvet cover ever. And if you’ve never tried a weighted pillow before, you really should!
