Hello Gorgeous!

Of the many things I’m fascinated with, powder compacts are high on the list. The idea that a product that enhances your beauty is also beautiful is at the risk of word usage overkill, a beautiful concept.

Early powder compacts (in brief)

The earliest iterations of compacts were believed to be in Mesopotamia and included crushed minerals and gemstones or some sort of talc-like powder scraped and pressed into shells. Notable, as in Ancient Egypt —and thousands of years before guyliner was trending— makeup products were commonly used by both women and men. These shell cosmetics boxes held up surprisingly well and thousands of years later these preservative-free beauties can be seen in museums.
