Wanderlust Wardrobe: The Triple-Threat Travel Dress
Can one dress be lightweight, stain-repelling, and stylish? Yes. Yes, it can!
Hello, Gorgeous!
The older I get, the less I pack. Okay, maybe it’s not an age thing but an aversion to schlepping things on trips I’ll never wear. That’s why I got so excited when I found a lightweight dress that repels stains and might even prevent sun damage.
Royal Robbins Women's Spotless Traveler Tank Dress
First, Royal Robbins was an actual person who happened to be one of the world’s most influential climbers. He and his wife, Liz—an impressive climber in her own right—formed the company together in 1968.
If you’re looking for high style, this isn’t the brand for you. If you're, however, looking for multi-function, easy-to-pack, and brilliantly designed clothing (there are SO MANY POCKETS!), you’re going to love Royal Robbins. They even have a line of mosquito-repelling clothing. Back to the dress. It’s their bestseller for a reason.
Lightweight. I haven’t actually weighed it, but this dress seems made of clouds.
Quick-drying/moisture-wicking. Even you tend to sweat a lot, this dress won’t hold onto your schvitz. Same with washing and almost immediately wearing.
Wrinkle resistant with lots of stretch. Even if you plan on eating your way through your next vacation, this dress will stretch along with you.
UPF 50+ The sun protection is real, but you might want to wear with a t-shirt or rash guard to protect your arms.
You can pair it with a cardigan for a casual night out or leggings for when it’s a bit cool outside. While it comes in 7 colorways, not all have the sun protection levels ($105, royalrobbins.com).
Do you pack light or do you tend to take everything along but the kitchen sink? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
