Hello, Gorgeous!
While I’m dreading the idea of summer being over, part of me is celebrating the idea of cooler weather, which involves my two favorite fashion groups - black tights and leather jackets. And while the weather isn’t cooperating (hot, humid, local-ish tornado!!!), I’m still noticing that the days are shorter and the nights a nano-degree cooler.
Here’s what I’m testing right now, and debating whether to review more in depth as the weather cools down a bit.
Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Recovery Treatment Essence
Essence has entered the bedtime chat. I don’t know what to tell you about this one. First off, for some reason I thought it was a serum the first two times I tried it. Because, you know, reading press materials and the name of the product didn’t clue me in. I’ll blame endless summer malaise. In any event, this is the first treatment essence to join the iconic Advanced Night Repair collection. In my defense, once I fully realized this was an essence, I doubly appreciated the almost instant effects. Maybe it’s the 500+ peptides, but I feel like this should be more like a Date Night prep than a pre-sleep treatment ($130, esteelauder.com).
TheraICE Headache Hat
While it’s not a chic fall cloche, this hat really targets migraines. Maybe it’s the soothing and just tight enough gel, or the fact that you can freeze it and somehow ice that headache away. I keep mine in the fridge and on those so hot it hurts days have pulled it on and tuned out for a while. I love it because it blocks out light. I also hate ice and can’t tolerate it on my skin; this gel version makes the extreme cold tolerable. And while the headache hat can also be heated up, I haven’t tried it out that way yet ($40, theraice.com).
MiWiPE Travel Wipes
Don’t judge, but I love me a good wipe. Especially when I’m traveling, and everything feels particularly gunky and germy. Aside from an extended road trip early this summer, I haven’t really gone anywhere. I will be packing these for my next trip. I love that these are fragrance-free and made for sensitive skin like mine ($10, for five packs of twenty wipes each on Amazon).
Candle love
I just love cozying up on the couch under a blankie with my emotional support human (or stuffy) and with an (only slightly) scented candle. I can’t get enough of Voluspa’s newest launch, Tomato Trellis, which is meant to evoke the scent of summer gardens, fresh herbs, and home cooking. The scent blends tomato leaf layered with bergamot, garden mint, rosemary sprigs, and soft woods. It also has odor-neutralizing technology to keep the strong smells at bay. I haven’t tried that part yet! ($38, for a large jar candle, voluspa.com).
A brightening toner pad
I keep meaning to do a round-up on toner pads. Here’s a starter for ya. Goodal 5-in-1 daily care toner pads are meant to target hyperpigmentation. Soaked in vitamin C essence (I’m detecting a theme here) and loaded with actives that include Niacinamide to minimize the look of dark spots and discoloration, Hyaluronic Acid which intensively hydrates skin, Centella Asiatica Extract to calm redness and strengthen skin and fruit acids to gently exfoliate and refine texture, they’re easy to use and have quicky results ($24, amazon).
So what’s on your almost autumn agenda? Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!
