Weekend Mode: Just In Case
Things that hold other things are the best things!
Hello, Gorgeous!
I’ve become something of an expert in micro-packing. Is that actually a thing? I doubt it. But it’s my ability to throw just a few extremely carefully curated items in a tote and head out for the weekend.
There’s a particular peace of mind that comes from being ready for (nearly) anything; whether it’s protecting your ‘do, your phone, or keeping your valuables as safe as possible while you’re out and about.
This weekend, I’m on the case!
Protect your valuables
Most of us know about the way that Yeti keeps drinks cool and food hot for hours, but did you know that they also have gear boxes to protect your belongings? The Gobox 1 gear case is small but mighty and keeps water out of your cash or important documents while you go hiking or mountain biking as you sporty types do ($65, yeti.com).
Tech protection
I recently splurged on the newest iPhone (and by splurged I mean signed up for a two-year plan to pay it off). Before I even received it I ordered a new crossbody case from Bandolier which protects my phone and also keeps it easily accessible. Also, it looks cute and is very chic. I also ordered screen and camera lens protectors. My screen is slightly darker than I’d prefer, but it’s a whole lot better than a shattered screen (Case prices vary at bandolierstyle.com).
Sleep protection:
Want to try a miracle product that protects hair from breakage and minimizes facial lines? Well, maybe not a miracle but Silke London launched a series of pillowcases that pair luxury with efficacy. Sleeping on silk keeps both hair and skin smoother. Also, you can pretend you’re a vixen from a noir film and…Oh, what. That’s me. (About $85, silkelondon.com).
Beautiful packaging
On my radar: There’s something particularly indulgent about using beauty products in wonderful packaging. Better yet when the packaging avoids using any virgin plastic. Carisa Janes, Founder of Hourglass cosmetics just launched Outside In a new beauty hybrid makeup/skincare/tools brand “created to merge nature, light, and innovation into high-performance beauty.” I haven’t tried any of the products yet, but I’m suitably intrigued (Prices range from $52-$72).
In your carry-on case
PlaneAire just dropped a limited edition plant-powered Pomegranate Basil lotion hand sanitizer. It’s one of the few I can use that doesn’t leave my hands parched and it smells SO good. Best yet? It’s TSA-approved ($12, planeaire.com).
An everything case
I have a somewhat unhealthy obsession with everything Kusshi. Probably because there is always room for more in their cases. Like their signature makeup bag which has extra pockets and zipper sections for all the (beauty) things ($69, bluemercury.com).
Have you started your holiday gift shopping yet, or is everything for you (as it should be!) ? Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!

Quick note: I included some affiliate links which means I might earn a small commission, but I also throw in stuff I love just because. Prices are current at publish time.

Teach me the micro-packing ways! I'm a chronic over-packer if it's more than one night lol! Happy Friday!
