Weekend Mode: 🔥
Stuart Townsend smolders, a party game, warmer lips, and a tiny cottage to covet
Hello, Gorgeous!
With much of the country expected to be blanketed with a whole bunch of snow this weekend, it’s a good time to think about things warm and toasty. To that end, here are some fun ways to add a bit of heat or hygge to your weekend:
Fire Horse frames
February 17 kicks off the Lunar New Year, and it's the Year of the Fire Horse —it's the first one in 60 years— associated with bold energy and transformation. Zenni has a great collection of bold and fiery frames including these fire engine red frames with a horsey icon to add some warmth to your look ($46, zenni.com).
(Air) fry your food
Fritaire makes some of the most beautiful and colorful air fryers I’ve ever seen. They’re also self-cleaning, non-toxic, BPA and Teflon free and come with a rotisserie basket if you’d like to spend your weekend admiring your chicken as it browns beautifully ($200, fritaire.com).
Live vicariously
I’ve been really enjoying these fired up tiny homes. This one has an outdoor fireplace and is located in warmer than here, Florida.
Play a potentially spicy game
Friday nights are for mahjong in my world, with Rummikub making a Saturday appearance. Yes. We love games in my social circle! This weekend we’re trying What The Film?! which has the intriguing tagline: “Make Movies. backstab Friends.” You choose an actor, set, and plot and players can vote on your choices. There are Industry cards which allow you to sabotage your friends' pitches and steal valuable points. I can think of worse ways to spend a snowy weekend! (Price varies on Amazon).
A slow burn
Have you been watching Shetland on Britbox? For the first seven seasons we were treated to Douglas Henshall, who played DI Jimmy Perez. Later, Ashley Jensen AKA I'll-Watch-Her-In-Anything and I miss her as Agatha Raisin joined the cast as DI Ruth Calder. This season the always smoking hot Stuart Townsend who is aging like the proverbial fine wine makes an appearance as moody poet/innkeeper and maybe love interest for Ruth, Ed Tulloch. Yes. He moodily reads some poetry. Now streaming on Britbox.
Hot chocolate lippie
Estee Lauder Glossy Pout Tinted Lip Oil in Hot Cocoa drenches your lips with hyaluronic acid and is loaded with anti-oxidants. And it has no calories and adds the tiniest bit of drama to your pajamas-all-weekend look ($29, esteelauder.com).
So how are you gearing up for this season’s first snowpocalypse? Let’s meet in the comments to discuss!
