Crocs Stomp sandals are bulky, garish, and unflattering. Why am I lusting after them?

The same green sandals keep showing up everywhere in my social media feeds lately. Sure I know it’s because the gods of algorithms are relentlessly mocking me (and chasing me all over the internet while monetizing my browsing habits), but still. I want these. I also really don’t want to want these.

Oh, Crocs, we meet again

There is tremendous irony in my not-so-secretly jonesing for a pair of Crocs.

Back in 2013, I was quoted in the Washington Post for my thoughts on the demise of Crocs as a brand. To say the story went viral is a bit of an understatement.

The story was picked up in hundreds upon hundreds of outlets nationally and internationally. It all heated up to the extent that I was invited to appear on a slew of morning TV talk shows and a few nighttime and business shows as well.
