Hello, Gorgeous!
In addition to my super sensitive skin, my teeth are easily irritable. I’ve been doing a deep dive into gum detox products. I’ve also been trying out toothpastes with fewer ingredients and preservatives. Right now I’m digging Before Purifying Toothpaste.
Before Sensitive Toothpaste
Before you ask, yes, this does have fluoride. Which is confusing since on the website it says “with Fluoride,” but if you scroll down it says “Fluoride-Free Formula.” Either way, it was a nice break from drugstore brands. That said, as someone who in addition to the aforementioned sensitivities also has a sensitive stomach, I try to avoid processed sweeteners/artificial sweeteners and sugar alcohols - even in toothpaste and mouthwash. This mild formula seems to be loaded with them in the form of Sorbitol, Xylitol, and Sodium Saccharin. That said, in most dental products it can be trace amounts for flavor that you rinse out.
What I like about this brand is the fact that it doesn’t have a ton of foam that gets all over your face. It also seems to actually soothe my teeth when brushing. Best of all, it’s part of new gen dental products that help remineralize your tooth enamel. In all, I’d say it’s definitely worth a try ($12, Amazon).
Have you been using remineralizing toothpastes I’d love to hear your thoughts on the topic! Also, would it be valuable for you if I shared a list of sugar alcohols/processed sweeteners/natural sweeteners to watch out for? Let’s meet in the comment section to discuss!
