You Don't Have to Care About the Met Gala

We don't talk about Bruno, we certainly don't have to discuss the Met Gala

Hello, Gorgeous!

Last night was rainy and foggy in New York. But that didn’t stop celebrities and wannabes from posing and posturing for the cameras at the annual Met Gala. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great excuse to get all dolled up. I’m just not feeling it anymore when it comes to the Met Gala.

Maybe it was when glamour fully disappeared and attendee Cardi B started being mistaken for a fashion icon that I decided to call it quits on caring.

The Meh Gala

While I’ll admit that this year’s fundraiser had an intriguing theme— Superfine: Tailoring Black Style— it just didn’t pull me enough to go ooh and ah.

I think Gwyenth Paltrow said it best a few years back:

“It seems like it’s the best thing in the world...You always think, Oh my god, it’s gonna be so glamorous and amazing and you’re going to see all these people, and then you get there and it’s so hot and it’s so crowded and everyone’s pushing you. I think we’re all a bit old to dress up punk.”
